Questions, answered plainly.
What people ask before trusting Forthold with their record.
Living with it
Is it always listening?
It captures when you let it. Pause is one action, and the gap is documented honestly rather than hidden.
What if I change my mind?
Delete a recording, a source or your whole account whenever you like, and see honestly how far the deletion has got.
Privacy and security
Can anyone force you to hand over my record?
At launch your record is protected by our contract rather than by hardware, so a lawful order could reach it. Enclave, coming later, is designed so that anyone compelling us would receive nothing readable.
What can Forthold actually see?
Our systems process your record to answer your questions and run the service. Our contract forbids anyone at Forthold from reading it, training on it or selling it.
Can I check any of this myself?
Not yet, and we would rather say so. We are building an open checker that anyone can run, which reports each claim separately and says plainly which ones cannot be proven. We will publish it when it is ready to be checked.
Plans
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, and you can export the whole record before or after you leave. Leaving is a feature, not an escape.
Is there a limit on how much I can use it?
Usage allowances for each plan will be confirmed at launch, alongside the prices.
For professionals
Do clients have to agree to being recorded?
Yes. Every client will be asked before anything is recorded. If they decline, nothing will be recorded, and a sealed note will keep proof that you asked.
Can Forthold read our client conversations?
Not on any plan: our contract forbids it. Enclave, coming later, will make it impossible.
Does this replace our suitability report?
No. Your report remains the considered document. Forthold keeps the contemporaneous record it was based on.
How long are records kept?
Each adviser will hold their own sealed records for as long as their obligations require. Firm-level administration and retention will follow.
